Building Standards

The Code Enforcement Officer maintains and enforces permitting in the City of Alma. The City will adhere to any updates or amendments that apply to the codes in the future.

Building Code Standards

 Effective July, 1, 2013, the City of Alma will enforce the following building codes:

  • 2012 International Plumbing Code and current Georgia State Amendments
  • 2012 International Mechanical Code
  • 2012 Fuel Gas Code
  • 2012 International Building Code
  • 2012 International Residential Code
  • 2012 International Fire Code
  • 2012 International Existing Building Code
  • 2012 International Green Construction Code
  • 2012 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code
  • 2011 International Electrical Code
  • 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. 

Permit Process

Once you fill out the permit information, you are required to meet with Code Enforcement Officer so that the permit can be issued.
