The City of Alma has three types of business license to accomodate any business that you operate. The include a General Business, Professional, and Beer and Wine License. All General Business License and Professional License are due by March 15th of each year. All Beer and Wine License are due by December 31st for the following year. Once an owner's fees have been paid and the documentation has been completed, the City will mail you your business license. All new business license require the owner to sign an Affidavit Verifying Status for City Public Benefit Application form and the E-Verify Affidavit.
*Please note* - If someone has an existing buiness that has already filled out the Affidavit Verifying Status for City Public Benefit Application form and the E-Verify Affidavit and it is on file with the city, then you DO NOT have to fill the forms out again. A person who owns a business that transitions from less than ten employees to 10 or more employees is required to fill out a new E-Verify Affidavit.

General Business License

If a business has 30 or more employees, then the fee is based on the number of employees. If a business has less than 30 employees, the fee is based on gross receipts.
